Kalakruthi Annual Concert 2018

Kalakruthi celebrates Sangitha Kalanidhi Smt DK Pattammal’s centenary year with a grant concert on 7/8 July 2018. Students will present songs popularised by her. Look out for details.

KalaKruthi 2016 Annual Program Veena and Vocal Students of the School will present Kala Kiran Annual Program as a tribute to Sangitha Kalanidhi MS Subbulakshmi. Powerpoint presentations in the backdrop will enhance the understanding of the items presented. Please be seated at 4.45 on Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 July 2016 at Doncaster Secondary College, 123 Church Road, Doncaster Tickets for a family (2 Adults+2 children) is only $10.

Kala Kiran- in three segments will feature: Nada yoga -An interactive Yoga session highlighting the beneficial effects of yoga on body, mind and soul — in particular the voice Panel discussion by leading teachers from Melbourne Music schools Ensembles led by Music teachers Venue: Peacock Hall, Carrum Downs Shiva Vishnu Temple Time: 4 to 7 pm

Shobha Sekhar’s Kalakruthi School of Music celebrated 10 years of Excellence in Carnatic music

The thematic concerts paying tribute to the five elements in aid of the Red Cross Victorian Bush Fire Appeal must have caught the attention of Melbourne rasikas. Shobha Sekhar and her School programs have always been crowd pullers but this program takes the cake. The over capacity crowds did not even get up to go the canteen between items. The stunning brochure with messages from the Premier of Victoria Sen John Brumby, Sri N Murali, Managing Director of Hindu Group of newspapers and President of the Music Academy, Chennai, and a very inspiring message from Shobha set the mood as the audience entered the Hall. ‘The event sets benchmarks in every possible way’ says a music enthusiast. ‘I have heard School programs but this is the best ever, in terms of the standard of the students-their grasp of the fundamentals of the classical idiom, their excellent coordination, the ragams, viruttams, Neravals, Tanams, kalpana swarams and theermanams vowed the audience’ The perfect enunciation, the introductions with the power point projections (enticing pictures to educate the audience about the meaning and story line)-were added bonuses to a meticulously planned and flawlessly executed program.
